Summer Outings

We have really enjoyed spending time together doing some things with Kate this Summer. It's funny how when you have a kid the small things become so much more precious and valuable. Anyway, enjoy some pictures from some of our treasured moments.

Half-price Sushi Lunch!
Kate picked up on the concept pretty quickly!
Clyde- the neighborhood fox! We spotted him almost every day for a week while out doing errands and then didn't see him for almost a week. A friend eased our concerns about his capture when he told us he saw him while out jogging one morning. Then Marshall said he saw animal control with a box in the neighborhood about a week after that. We hope they took him somewhere safe and cozy!

Kate pretty much loves the park! She loves to swing and go "WEEEEEE"! I wish I could adequately describe her excitement. The pictures really don't do it justice!

Here was a quick lunch date at Thanksgiving Point. Afterwards we played around in the reception gardens! Again, Kate loved it! In this last picture she was about one step away from literally walking into the water! We are still working on the concept that certain things WILL cause injury.

Walk

Nate and Britt went on a date so we took the babies on a walk. Here is what we saw...

Anniversary

Marshall and I celebrated our Third Wedding Anniversary Tuesday! I can't believe it's only been three years! That Morning we welcomed Laura in from Omaha. James and Laura recently moved to Idaho and this was Laura's first trip out since the move so we wanted to create an environment that was welcoming... I think we achieved our objective.

Later that night we got to celebrate with yummy Melting Pot and an evening away! Nate and Britt watched Kate for us for our first full night away since she was born and it was so nice to go to dinner at a normal hour and to sleep in!

It was a great day!

Pioneer Day

We were going to be brave and head downtown to the parade this year but we got a last min invite to Aunt Jackie's for hot dogs and slip-n-slide that evening and decided Kate couldn't do both in one day. Truthfully, we were grateful for an excuse not to get up at 7 am and stand in the heat trying to convince a 14 mo old that she was having fun. We had such a great time with family that evening it was double confirmation that we made the right choice! Here are some pictures of our night.

The "other" Kate
Marshall and our Kate trying to decide if they were ready to get wet
A quick stop by the cemetery on the way home
Kate was so funny to watch with the Police Dog statue next door. She timidly went up to it and patted it several times. Once she figured out it wasn't real she was hugging and kissing it and giggling so hard. I wish I had better photography skills and I might have captured some of the love on film but this was as close as I got.

I love that we get the extra Holiday here in Utah! It was a perfect day!

More Holiday Weekend

Since Independence Day was on Sunday this year we just enjoyed a Patriotic church service and BBQ with the family and recovered from the day before. Monday Marshall had the day off work so we tried to relax as a family and in the evening we took a trip to Thanksgiving Point to the Children's Gardens and Farm Country. Kate loved playing in the fountain and exploring the Gardens and Marshall was a good sport to chase her around. At the Farm Country we saw all the animals Kate loves from her books and videos and even got to ride the pony! It was a beautiful, peaceful, fun evening together!

I loved having a four day weekend to celebrate my FAVORITE holiday with the people I LOVE!!!! Here are some highlights from day one!
That morning we went to see Lee and Jill and to patron their Crepe Shack at the Centerville Celebration!

They were delicious!

Here is an attempt at getting the kids to get excited for pictures

After pictures it was off to the park for the neighborhood picnic celebration!

As you can see- LOTS of food and FUN!!!

"Hurry up Mom I want to go down the slide!"

After lunch in the park it was home for naps and then off to FIREWORKS!

The babies did pretty good hanging in there for fireworks. This year we went to the Riverton Fireworks and I must say, It was pretty fun! Check out this face from Kate!

Hahahah! Britt thought this picture looked like they both knew they were supposed to be smiling but weren't quite sure why!

Just waiting for the show to start!

Drew and Wyatt joined us

I brought Kate's PJs just in case and I was glad! She lasted til the end but definitely enjoyed chilling out in her comfy gear!

We had such a fun day! It was everything that makes this my FAVORITE holiday!
